SierraMatch (“we”, “us”) operates the sierramatch.com website and mobile apps. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Last updated: June 2026.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address, name, age, gender, preferences, bio, photos, interests, relationship goals, and city/country.
• Location: approximate or precise GPS coordinates when you grant permission, used for distance-based discovery.
• Activity: likes, passes, matches, messages, direct message requests, blocks, and reports.
• Device & usage: app version, device type, IP address, crash logs, and general usage patterns.
• Payments: subscription and in-app purchase status are processed by Apple or Google; we store plan status and credits, not full card numbers.

How we use your data

We use your information to create and display your profile, suggest matches, enable chat, send notifications you opt into, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our guidelines, and improve SierraMatch. We do not sell your personal information to third-party data brokers.

Location data

GPS coordinates help show nearby profiles and distance labels. You can adjust your distance filter or browse worldwide in Discover. You may deny location permission; some features may be limited without it. Location is not shared as a live map with other users — only approximate distance when applicable.

Sharing with service providers

We use trusted providers to run SierraMatch, including Firebase (authentication, database, storage, messaging), Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, and mobile ad networks on the free tier. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and our service.

Photos & messages

Photos you upload are stored securely and shown to other users according to your profile visibility and matching activity. Messages are available to chat participants and are used for safety review when reported. Do not share sensitive financial or identity documents in chat.

Advertising & analytics

Free members may see ads from Google Mobile Ads. Ad partners may use device identifiers according to their policies. Premium members receive an ad-free experience in supported areas of the app. We use aggregated, non-identifying analytics to understand feature usage.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, photos, and associated content from active systems within a reasonable period. Some data may be retained briefly in backups or where required for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Keep your login credentials private and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your rights & choices

You can update your profile, manage notification settings, block users, and delete your account in the app. You may contact support@sierramatch.com to request access to or correction of personal data, or to ask privacy questions. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

Children

SierraMatch is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn a user is under 18, the account will be removed.

International users

SierraMatch is available worldwide. Your data may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using SierraMatch, you understand your information may cross borders with appropriate safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.

Delete your account

You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Safety & Legal → Privacy & account in the app. Deletion removes your profile, photos, matches, messages, and related data from active use.
